How does a solar pool system work?

In a solar pool heating system, the existing pool filtration system pumps pool water through the solar collector click here.  The collected heat is transferred directly to the pool water, therefore, no operating costs are incurred.

What applications are available to heat my pool?

There are 3 methods: solar, pool heat pumps, and gas.

SOLAR: Triples the swimming season by increasing the pool temperature up to 15 degrees warmer than an unheated pool, from the end of February until the end of November. The months from December-February are not consistent with this type of heating because days are much shorter and cold fronts are more frequent.

POOL HEAT PUMP: These units are essentially air conditioners that work in reverse. It only requires energy to operate a compressor and a fan motor using low amperage in the process. The most efficient units produce up to 6 times more heat energy than the power it consumes.  The average cost is $85-$160 per month.

GAS: is intended for a spill-over spa, which generally holds 500 gallons of water. If you chance heating the pool (10,000-15000 average) you will discover the cost to do so can easily reach $400 for one week of operation.
